Andrew M. Sullivan, Jr., 78, husband of Karen (Schiavone) Sullivan, passed into eternity on January 28th at Saint Francis Hospital with his four loving children by his side. Andrew spent his career as a CPA with KPMG LLP and its predecessor firms. He spent many years as the Partner-in-Charge of Tax. Andrew served on many Boards of Directors including ACMAT Corporation, Erickson Metals Corporation and as the Financial Chairman of Connecticut Resource and Recovery Authority. He was a member of The Greater Hartford Jaycees and served as Co-Chairman of The Greater Hartford Open (now The Travelers Championship) in 1974. He was a long-time trustee of the Mark Twain House and the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools.

The son of the late Andrew and Loretta (Murphy) Sullivan, he was born on August 10, 1942 and graduated from Bulkeley High School and in 1964 graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. During his years at Georgetown, he worked at the United States Capitol.

In addition to Karen his junior high sweetheart and his wife of 56 years, Andrew is survived by two sons, Patrick and Heather Sullivan of Glastonbury, Michael and Diane Sullivan of North Attleboro, MA, and two daughters, Kara and Robert Zdrojeski of Glastonbury and Colleen and Jay Gracey of Glastonbury. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Helen Sullivan and Nancy Phelon and brother-in-law Frank Schiavone. Andrew is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Preston Zdrojeski, Andrew Sullivan, Quinn Zdrojeski, Brendan Gracey, Patrick Sullivan, Lauren Gracey, Bobby Zdrojeski, Colin Sullivan, Meghan Gracey, Caleigh Sullivan, Sean Zdrojeski and Timothy Zdrojeski. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Sullivan.

Andrew was a devout Catholic and an example of generosity and compassion for others. Andrew’s fondest memories were spent cheering on each of his grandchildren at the many sporting events or dance recitals. He loved golfing, was an avid reader, traveled with Karen and friends, and enjoyed spending time relaxing with family at Point of Woods.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 1st at 11:00 AM in St. Paul Church of SS Isidore and Maria Parish, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Friends may call on Sunday January 31 from 2-6 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. Attendees must wear masks and social distancing will be observed.
