Obituary for Adina Placido
Adina Placido, 66, of Newington, CT passed away on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 in Hartford Hospital due to difficulties with cancer. Adina was born in Hartford, CT on May 5th, 1955 and lived in Florida as well as Wethersfield, CT. Adina was a brilliant academic and educator who excelled in English and taught school children from middle school to adult ed during her career. She graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1978 and later went on to earn her Master’s Degree at the University of Hartford in 2003. She was adored by her family and friends and was looked at as the sweet and graceful soul amongst all who surrounded her. Her tremendous love of art and music, especially the Beatles, was a true joy in her life. She was also extremely well read, curious and bright. Her vocabulary was extraordinary, and she truly never stopped learning and teaching. Adina loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit many places both domestic and abroad. Adina loved the beach, water, sand, ocean, and sunsets. Basking in that scenery was where she achieved sincere happiness. Adina was truly beautiful inside and out and loved by so many.
She will be deeply missed by her sons David Costabile of New Jersey and Dillon O’Connor of Rocky Hill, CT; her twin sister Valentina McBride and her husband Thomas McBride of Newington CT; their children and Adina’s niece Alaina Crawford, husband Vincent Crawford, and their daughter Violet Crawford of Newington, CT; and Adina’s nephew Ryan McBride of Hartford, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit of Annunciation Parish, 183 Church St, Newington, CT 06111 at 11 AM on Friday, May 28th, 2021. Friends may call from 4 PM-7 PM on Thursday May 27th, 2021 in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Homes, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
