Beverly “Bev” (Oxford) Byrne, 89, of Wethersfield, loving wife of the late William T. “Bill” Byrne, peacefully passed away Monday, September 30, 2019, at Apple Rehab, Cromwell with her family by her side. Beverly was born May 7, 1930 in Melbourne, MA, daughter of the late Arthur and Vera (Cole) Oxford. She was raised in Hartford, attended Hartford schools, where she met her husband to be. Bev and Bill, with their two children, Carleen and Kevin, resided in Wethersfield for over 60 years. She retired after 30 years of service as Senior Transportation Driver for the Senior and Handicapped of the Town of Wethersfield.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Kevin Byrne and his wife Elaine, of Wethersfield; daughter Carleen Wood and her husband Doug, of Cromwell; her three adored grandchildren and great-grandchild Jason, Matthew, Courtney and Chace; as well as four wonderful nieces.
A special thanks to the entire staff at Apple Rehab, Cromwell for the love and care they gave Bev in her final years.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, from 10-11am, at which time a Celebration of Bev’s life will be held. Following the service, Bev will be reunited with Bill in Village Cemetery, Marsh St. Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Recreation Dept. at Apple Rehab Cromwell, 156 Berlin Rd., Cromwell, CT 06416.
