Obituary for Richard F. "Dick" Cousins

Richard Francis “Dick” Cousins Sr., 93 of Glastonbury, formerly of Wethersfield, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Glastonbury Health Care Center. Dick was born November 30, 1923 and raised in Waltham, MA. He was a decorated veteran, serving our country in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After serving in the military, Dick joined the Hartford Police Department where he proudly served as a Patrolman. He was a member of BPOE Elks # 19 and the VFW Hannon-Hatch in Elmwood. He had a great sense of humor and loved and enjoyed a good party. Dick is survived by his two daughters, Noreen Stanulis and her husband Tom, JoAnn Cousins, all of South Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Cousins of Simsbury; a step-daughter, Joan (Patitucci) Albert; and a step-son Michael Patitucci as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Richard F. Cousins, Jr. and his wives, Helen Cousins and Josephine Cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Dick’s life will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10am directly in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
