Condolence: I was fortunate to get to work with Jim at Saint Francis Hospital in the endoscopy unit. I always knew I would have a great day when I was lucky enough to have Jim in my room. He provided wonderful and compassionate care to all of the patients. I enjoyed chatting with him during the cases and sharing stories about children, life and work. He willl be greatly missed. Condolence: I am a CRNA and worked with Jim at Yale. I only had the pleasure of knowing him a few months, but he really made an impact on me in that short amount of time, which is a testament to the type of person that he was. I was lucky enough to work one-on-one with him during a day of my new employee orientation to the hospital. I was not only impressed with how smart he was and what a good clinician he was , but also how genuinely nice, caring, helpful, funny, and calm cool and collected he was. Being new to this profession, I can honestly say that if I can become half the CRNA that Jim was, that would be a success. But what really sticks out in my mind about that day of orientation... was how proud Jim was of his family. We spent a good part of the day talking about you guys, because to him, you were clearly his biggest accomplishment. His face just lit up when he talked about you and he couldn't wait for the opportunity to whip out his phone and show me pictures of the children and wife he adored so much. I am so so sorry for this tremendous loss. He was a beautiful soul that I'm sure will live on through all of you.

Condolence From: Doug Vaughn
Condolence: I am so very sorry for your devastating loss. I was privileged to know and work with Jim at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the consummate professional. Always prepared and completely dedicated to the safe and compassionate care of our patients. He never sought any gratitude or recognition of his outstanding WORK apart from the knowledge that helped his fellow human beings through a difficult time in their lives. His passing has diminished us all. He will be sorely missed personally and by everyone he ever touched. Doug Vaughn , MD
