Obituary for Francis Joseph "Frank" Hendron

Frank J. Hendron, 91, of Hartford, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Frank was born December 15, 1925 and raised in Hartford, one of seven children of the late Frank T. and Grace (Rice) Hendron. He attended St. Augustine School, and then went on to graduate from Bulkeley High School, Class of 1943. Frank served our country during World War II in the Navy where he was a Signalman 2nd Class on a Destroyer Escort. He was a skilled Plumber and Member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Locals 76 & 777. Frank was a superintendant and foreman during the construction of many of the high rise buildings in the Hartford area. In addition he taught plumbing at night for the State of CT Trade School. After his retirement from the Plumber’s Union, he became a Plumbing Inspector for the City of Hartford. Frank enjoyed his retirement, spending many years wintering in St. Augustine, FL and spending most of his summers at Black Pt. Beach, Niantic. For the last five years he lived independently at Avery Heights in Hartford. Frank will be dearly missed by his brother, Joseph W. Hendron and his wife Janeth, of Wethersfield; many nieces and nephews; and a very close friend, Joan Maddis of Hartford. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his five sisters, Grace DeVaux, Elizabeth A. Hendron, Sarah Landers, Alice Mary Hendron and Mary Malarney. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Hendron Family Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4-6pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Frank’s life will be held Saturday, January 14th at 11am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in the family plot in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section H), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. To extend online condolences and/or light a memorial
