John A. Malone Jr., 74, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Ann Marie (Cresiski) Malone, entered eternal peace Tuesday December 8, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Oneida, NY, August 27, 1935, John was the son of the late John A. and Antoinette (Buttino) Malone. He spent most of his life in New York, where he met his future wife Ann Marie. They then resided in Boston, East Hartford, and finally in Glastonbury. He was a US Air Force Veteran from 1955-1959, serving in the Intelligence Program in Alaska. John held two Masters Degrees from Babson College and the University of Hartford. Prior to his retirement, John was employed as an Engineer for Pratt & Whitney, then did Managerial work for the Hartford Insurance Co. He was a Communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford along with being a Eucharistic Minister of the Church in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1276 of Syracuse, NY. In addition to his wife, John will be fondly remembered by his loving family; his son, Mark Malone of Glastonbury; daughter and son in law, Christina and Rocco DiRico; his adoring granddaughter Ella Grace DiRico; sister, Rosemarie Malone of Liverpool, NY; brother in law, Joseph Cresiski of Glastonbury; two aunts in NY; and several cousins. He is also survived by his dog Holly who has been his faithful friend for the past ten years. Funeral Procession from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, will be held Saturday December 12, 2009 at 9:45am, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 15 Millbrook Drive, East Hartford, CT 06118. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. John’s family will receive relatives and friends in the Funeral Home, Friday December 11, from 5-7pm.
