Elaine (Mulcahy) Mahoney, 87, of Glastonbury, died on November 18, 2009 at Hartford Hospital Hospice surrounded by family. Elaine was born in Hartford, March 12, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Helen Mulcahy, resided in the Hartford area all her life, graduating from Mount Saint Joseph Academy. She married her husband, the late Clifford N. Mahoney on March 22, 1947. She was a parishioner and altar care server of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Glastonbury, a member of the Women’s League of the Sacred Heart, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Glastonbury, and the Democratic Women’s League of Voters, Glastonbury. Elaine was a stay at home mom most of her married life, raising her children. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. Elaine will be dearly missed by her loving family; five sons, James Mahoney, Joseph Mahoney, Dennis Mahoney and his wife Patricia all of Glastonbury, Mark Mahoney and his wife Maura of Avon, Paul Mahoney and his wife Dottie of South Carolina; two daughters, Susan Anderson and her husband John of Newport, OR, and Vanessa Hansen and her husband David of Marlborough; eleven grandchildren, Brian Mahoney, Geoffrey Mahoney both of Glastonbury, Erin Mahoney of Newington, Kelly Mahoney of East Hartford, Thomas Secondo and his wife Kate of Boston, David Secondo and his wife Mary Ellen of Colorado, Craig Mahoney and his wife Adrienne of Fort Worth, TX, Frank O’Connor of Avon, Rebecca Hansen of Marlborough, Elizabeth Mahoney, and Siana Mahoney both of Austin, TX; four wonderful great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Clifford, Elaine was predeceased by her brother John Mulcahy, and sister, Marjorie Krob. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Elaine’s life will be held Saturday November 28, 2009, at 10:00am in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Interment will follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Neipsic Road, Glastonbury. Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s name to Friends of Glastonbury Youth (FOGY), c/o Neil Somberg, 190 Bobby Lane, Manchester, CT 06040.
