Lawrence J. Golemba, the devoted husband to the late Gloria (Ricupero) Golemba peacefully entered into the Lord’s embrace Monday, November 16, 2009. Born in Hartford to the late Frank and Amelia (Cedor) Golemba, he retired from the Travelers Ins. Co. after many years of service as an Underwriter. Larry loved music and spent many years playing in the Hartford area as an accomplished trumpeter in a band known as The Rythmairres. For the past two years he made his home at Saint Mary’s Convalescent Home in West Hartford under the warm care from the staff on Callaghan Crossing. Prior he lived for many years in Wethersfield. Sharing in their loss are his sons, David Golemba and his wife, Doreen of Bloomfield and Thomas Golemba of Springfield, MA, as well as his daughter, Susan Jones and her husband Tom of Coventry, four grandchildren, Heather Griffin, Leslie Le Tourneau, Melissa Jones, Thomas Golemba and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 9:30am from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Friends may call 1 hr prior at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30am. Burial will follow the Mass at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to a charity of your choice. |
