Mary Margaret McGrath, 91, formerly of Rocky Hill and Crescent St. Hartford, died peacefully Thursday, (October 15, 2009), at St. Mary Home, West Hartford. Mary was born in Hartford, November 18, 1917, daughter of the late Daniel F. McGrath Sr. and Mary Katherine (McHugh) McGrath. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Rev. Daniel F. McGrath Jr. Mary was a Graduate of Bulkeley High School, Hartford and a member of The Irish American Home Society. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked for 47 years as a supervisor with the Travelers Insurance Company. She leaves her many cousins and friends. Mary's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Mary Home for their care and compassion. Relatives and friends may call on the family Wednesday, October 21 from 4-7 p.m. at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield and Thursday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Reflections Room of St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her cousin and Godson, The Most Rev. Bishop Christie A. Macaluso on Thursday, October 22, at 11:30 a.m. in The Chapel of St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Ave., West Hartford. Interment will follow in the family plot in Section T of Mount St. Benedict Cemetery 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
