Helen Nora (Burke) Kureczka, 86, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Theodore “Ted” Kureczka, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 with her loving family by her side. Even with her battle with Dementia she always would smile and say she loved you. Born and raised in Hartford she was the daughter of the late William and Nora (Barry) Burke. In 1947 Helen met the love of her life Teddy bear at the Polish Home. They were married for 58 years, creating a cherished and loving family with many friends. Helen graduated from Saint Joseph Academy and Hartford Public High School. She worked at Pratt & Whitney for 12 years and then went on to work at Industrial Risk Insurance for 15 years. She loved watching UCONN sports, but above all, going to all of her grandchildren’s games with a coffee in one hand and Ted in the other as they were their grandchildren’s number one fans. Helen leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law Richard & Angela of Berlin and the reason for always wanting to baby sit all the time, her grandchildren, Kristin, Nikki and Kyle. The three girls who over the years brought smiles happiness and a new meaning of daughters to Helen and Ted; Sue Mahoney, Sue Cirrina and Jennifer Campenello. Helen was predeceased by three siblings, Peg McFeeters, Jack Burke and Sister Mary Borromeo (Aunt Dolly). Helen is survived by a sister-in-law, Eve Burke of Bristol and two nephews, Bill McFeeters and Bill Burke as well as a niece Joan Burke. Rick & Angela would like to thank Fran and the staff of Cromwell Health for making her feel at home over last years. And finally to the staff of the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Floor, who for eight days treated my mom as if she were family and put up with me every night, so I could have quality time with her, I THANK YOU ALL. Helen’s family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday October 6, 2009 from 9:00-10:30am in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 11am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Interment will follow at Village Cemetery, (Willard Section) Marsh St, Wethersfield. The family asks that friends instead of flowers consider memorial donations to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice & Palliatice Unit, (Office of Philanthropy) 28 Crescent St, Middletown, CT. 06457.
