Vincenzella Lamarra Tosti, was born into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on September 28, 2009, one month shy of her 98th birthday. Born in Salandra, province of Matera, Italy on October 28, 1911 to Giacomo Lamarra and Rosa Uricchio Lamarra , Vincenzella emigrated to the United States to be with with her husband, Vincent Tosti and to raise their four children, Ralph Tosti, Caroline Moore, Roseann Porter and Amelia Brennan. She resided in the South End of Hartford for the majority of her life. Over the years, she worked tirelessly, sacrificing her own needs to provide a warm and loving home and many opportunities for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. . Vincenzella spent her life teaching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the importance of love, faith, and family. Vincenzella attended Mass daily for much of her life at St. Augustine Church in Hartford, and had a special devotion to Mary. She was rarely without her rosary. Vincenzella was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son Ralph Tosti, her son-in-law, John Brennan, her granddaughter, Laurie Porter Campbell, as well as her sisters and brother. She is survived by her three daughters, Caroline and her husband Norman Moore, Roseann Porter, Mimi Brennan, and her daughter-in-law, Maureen Tosti. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren, R. James Tosti and his wife Karen, Stephen Tosti, Patricia Tosti, Gina Raleigh and her husband James, David Moore and his wife Marlene, Douglas Moore, Kimberly Dowie and her husband Michael, Cynthia Marsella and her husband Mark, William Campbell, Bradford Porter and his wife Melissa, Lisa Bordiere and her husband Michael, Elisabeth Brennan and her husband Mike Wade and Kathleen Brennan and her husband Michael Regan. In addition, she leaves her 22 precious great-grandchildren who brought her so much love and joy in her later years. They are: Justin and Jessica Tosti, Taylor, Jason and Lauren Raleigh, Cameron and Zachary Moore, Chelsea Campbell, Christopher, Andrew and Kyle Dowie, Alexandra Marsella, Nicholas, Lexie, Braden and London Porter, Mikayla and Matthew Bordiere, Emily and Anna Regan and John and Sarah Wade. To these children, she was ‘Nonna,’ a loving and dynamic presence in their lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 2, at 10:30 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., in Rocky Hill, CT (Everyone's asked to go directly to church). Calling hours are from 4-7PM on Thursday, October 1, at The Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield.
