Edward John Lysik, 85, of Worcester, MA, formerly of Glastonbury, CT, beloved husband to the late Sophie (Wasilewski) Lysik, entered eternal peace Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital Worcester with his family by his side. Edward was born October 20, 1923, in Glastonbury, and was a lifelong resident prior to moving to Worcester five years ago. He was the son of the late Jacinty & Stella Lysik. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. After his discharge from the military, Edward worked in the Field Maintenance division of Hamden Oil Co. of Glastonbury for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church of Glastonbury and its Men’s Club, the Teamsters Union, and American Legion Post 56. Edward will be fondly remembered by his loving family: two sons, William E. Lysik and his wife Patricia of Hockessin, DE, and Anthony J. Lysik of Salem, NH; two daughters, Rita M. Lysik of Falls Church, VA, and Arlene A. Hannon and her husband Daniel J. of Worcester, MA; a sister, Helen Cantwell of Windsor Locks, CT; a grandson, granddaughter, and great grandson. Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 14, 2009 at 9:00am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave, Glastonbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Interment with full military honors will follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Neipsic Road, Glastonbury. Edward’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday August 13 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in Edward’s name to the American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Road, Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457 or the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P.O.
