William Bernard Weldon, Sr., 58, of Glastonbury, entered into eternal peace Tuesday (July 21, 2009) at his home. Born August 12, 1950 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Bernard & Dorothy (Simmons) Weldon, and has resided in Glastonbury most of his life. William was the owner/operator of Glastonbury Auto Shop for many years retiring in the mid 1980’s, and was a dedicated racecar enthusiast. He was also a member of the Elks Club of Glastonbury, the Italian American Club of East Hartford, and was a lover of animals; most especially dogs. William will be fondly remembered by his loving family; son, William Bernard Weldon, Jr. and his wife Denice, of Manchester; two daughters, Dawn Osip and her husband Steven, of Glastonbury; Jenna Weldon of Glastonbury; two sisters, Barbara Dickau of Charleston, R.I. and Florida, Geraldine Hollister of North Granby; seven adoring grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jessica, Thomas, Emily, Dylan, Kevin, and Kaden. Last but not least, William leaves his four legged children, his three dogs, Rocko, Shep, and Hope. Besides his parents, William was predeceased by a sister Nancy Florio. A Memorial service celebrating William’s life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. James Cemetery (Section 3), Grove Street, Glastonbury. William’s family will receive relatives and friends in the Funeral Home, Friday July 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. The Weldon family requests memorial contributions be made in William’s name to The Town of Glastonbury, Animal Care Fund, 2108 Main St., P.O.
